North Babylon resident Dillon Tonne, who serves with the Company B, 3-142nd Aviation in the New York Army National Guard has been promoted to the rank of Private.
Major General Patrick A. Murphy, The Adjutant General for the State of New York, announced the promotion in recognition of Dillon's capability for additional responsibility and leadership.
Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential, Murphy said in a statement
These promotions additionally recognize the best qualified Soldiers and attract and retain the highest caliber Citizen Soldiers for a career in the New York Army National Guard, he added.
