Babylon Town Board Members Congratulate New North Babylon Eagle Scouts

Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez recently joined with Councilwoman Jacqueline Gordon and Councilman Tom Donnelly to congratulate Anthony M. Gilman and Joseph Gallo, both from North Babylon, for obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout. At their Court of Honor ceremony, the Town Board members praised the scouts for their hard work and commitment to community service. Both scouts are members of Boy Scout Troop 179 and completed their own Eagle Projects in order to achieve the highest rank offered by the organization.

For his project, Anthony constructed a garden around the Masera Learning Center sign in West Islip, which included collecting donations and enlisting volunteers to help with the process. Joseph’s project was to landscape and help beautify the electronic sign at Robert Moses Middle School in North Babylon by holding a “brick fundraiser” and led over 30 volunteers assist in the project’s completion.
