Breakfast with Santa at St. Cyril & St. Methodius

What could be merrier than a warm meal, family, friends and sitting for a spell with Santa?  That’s what the good people at Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius School enjoyed on Saturday, December 7th at their annual SSCM Breakfast with Santa.  Dozens of selfless volunteers from the school and parish served up a mouthwatering meal, along with merry music, crafts, treats, and prizes for young and old alike.

The children were all smiles by the time Santa took to the stage and the excitement was at a fevered pitch as they neared their turn to have a seat on Santa’s lap!  Whispered wishes included more than just dolls and dreams, as each young boy and girl got to spend some time with the jolly man himself.

And those aren’t the only smiles this event was sure to inspire.  Each of the children also brought along a non-perishable item to add to a joyous mound of generously donated food and sundries to be delivered to SSCM’s Parish Outreach, a program which provides services and support for families in need. The youngsters gathered here were all hugs and giggles as they sang out their school motto, “Our school spirit is the Holy Spirit – Catch it!”  It was the perfect way to end the first week of Advent, put aside thoughts of shopping and decorating, and add just another touch of fun to the season!
