Deer Park Third-Grader Wins Dental Poster Contest

Steven Hernandez, a third-grader at Deer Park’s John F. Kennedy Intermediate School, was named the winner of the Children’s Dental Health Month contest in the second and third grade category, presented by the Hauppauge-based Suffolk County Dental Societies.

For creating a poster showing beautiful smiles, Hernandez was recognized by Suffolk Country Dental Societies’ Paul Markowitz at a special ceremony at the UPSKY Long Island Hotel in Hauppauge, and was awarded a certificate, a gift bag and a $25 gift card to Target.  He was among approximately 50 JFK students who participated by submitting posters to the contest, all of whom received a certificate from the society.
