Four from Frost Compete at New York State Science and Engineering Fair

Deer Park’s Robert Frost Middle School recently hosted the New York State Science and Engineering Fair, involving participation from dozens of districts and hundreds of high school and middle school students from across Long Island. Four of Frost’s own young scientists successfully competed in the Broadcom Division of the STEM-oriented fair.

 

Anthony Machuca researched ways to make fuel from wood, while Kirat Singh’s research explored ways to create energy from sound. Tamara Beauchamp’s work pertained to water purification.

Fabiha Kahn, whose project involved experimenting with methods of oil removal from spills, placed for an award, which will be revealed at the NYSSEF award ceremony on May 21 at Jericho High School.
