Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently joined with Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Councilman Tom Donnelly, Councilwoman Jacqueline Gordon, Receiver of Taxes Corinne DiSomma and Town Clerk Carol Quirk to recognize the Deer Park Falconettes kickline team for winning First Place in their division at the Contest of Champions in Florida. A small ceremony was held for the team at Babylon Town Hall in Lindenhurst, where they were congratulated for their great achievement.
The Falconettes competed against teams from across the country at the event, which was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Walt Disney World. The team has taken part in the Contest of Champions for the past ten years and has ranked First Place three times. In addition to their national first place ranking this year, the team went undefeated in local competitions.
