1. Home Canning: On Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Deer Park Library Mark Vosburgh will present this program on the history of canning, general principles of safe food handling, water bath and pressure canning methods, equipment used and troubleshooting. Mark will discuss canning tomatoes and making tomato sauce--learn how you can make the most of your garden or items bought at farmer’s markets.
2. Double Dangle Necklace: On Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Deer Park Library, Create a double strand necklace using gold-tone chains and assorted crystal beads—perfect to compliment a casual or dressy outfit (regardless of the season!) $10 materials fee.
3. Memo Board/Magnet Locker Set: On Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the North Babylon library, students in grades 6-12 can get organized with a locker flair made from recycled materials. Decorate a dry erase board to keep track of upcoming tests and design magnets to hold pictures and notes.
