1. No more need to purchase delivery confirmation to track a package. The US Postal Service is rolling out a free tracking service starting Jan 27. That's 75 cents for each package back in your pocket.
2. The US Postal Service is also introducing Forever Stamps to international destinations. The value of the Global Forever stamps will equal the current 1-ounce mailpiece price for overseas destinations no matter what the rate increase, forever.
3. An amateur boxing showcase will be held tomorrow, Jan. 5 at the Deer Park Community Center, 41 Homer Avenue in Deer Park, staring at 7 p.m. Body Shot Boxing of St. James is presenting its third and biggest USA Amateur Boxing Show, this year paired with a vendor showcase. Tickets are $20.
4. Tonight is DJ Night at The Arches ice rink at the Tanger shopping center. The rink is open until 9 p.m. on Fridays.
