Local pride was evident and smiles were in abundance as residents, businesses and civic organizations were joined by Suffolk Legislator Lou D’Amaro, D-North Babylon, Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Town Councilman Tony Martinez and other area dignitaries in a salute to North Babylon at the recent 2013 Street Fair and Community Festival, held along Old Deer Park Avenue, North Babylon’s unofficial “Main Street.”

The family-friendly day celebrated the spirit of the community and featured Supervisor Schaffer as the Grand Marshall.  Organized and hosted by the North Babylon Lions Club and Boy Scout Troop 399 to raise funds for scholarships and other valuable community programs, highlights included performances by the North Babylon High School cast of Hairspray, the Robert Moses Middle School marching band, a barbershop quartet and local bands, as well as a 150-vendor street fair, classic cars on display, inflatable rides and delicious food offerings by local restaurants.
