Deer Park Community Center's Haunted House
Zombies and killer clowns are back from the dead at the Deer Park Community Center's Haunted House.
Within an old school building, the haunted house features 7,000-square-feet of sinister scares. Those brave enough to enter will experience a 15-minute walk through the school building as 40 actors and live animations bring the night to life.
Friday and Saturday nights are open from 7 p.m. until midnight and are not advised for small children. The haunted house runs on Sundays from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and features a 'light-fright' walk for those with small children, or the scardy cats in the family. Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for children if with an adult, up to four children.
Town of Babylon Fall Cleanup Day
The Town of Babylon Fall Cleanup Day is this Saturday, Oct. 13 from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Residential Recycling Center located on Field Street in West Babylon. Acceptable items include furniture, white goods (such as stoves and dishwashers) and wood products such as fencing, paneling and brush. Unacceptable items include car an boat parts, or demolition debris. Wood items must be cut into 4-foot lengths. Boating Course
America’s Boating Course for adults and young boaters (10 years old and older) will meet today at the Long Island Yacht Club (307 Little East Neck Road, Babylon) at 10 a.m., covering the following topics:
Boat terms and types, aids to navigation, boat handling, navigational rules, adverse conditions and emergencies, US and New York State regulations, boat trailering, and personal water craft. Plotting classes on November 3rd is optional.
