At Buffalo Wild Wings, a Pepsi Switch

The popular chain plans to drop Coke in early 2014.

Buffalo Wild Wings, which has a popular location on Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon, has agreed to drop Coke in favor of Pepsi brands.

As part of the deal, Buffalo Wild Wings and Pepsi will cross-market each other's products. Pepsi-owned brands include Doritos, Tostitos and Ruffles potato chips, as well as Tropicana juices.

This means Buffalo Wild Wings customers could soon be able to order Doritos-flavored chicken wings and a large Mountain Dew.

Sally Smith, chief executive of Buffalo Wild Wings, said the company was drawn to Pepsi because of the company's sponsorship and relationship with major sports brands, including the National Football League.

The Buffalo Wild Wings conversion to Pepsi products will be completed nationwide by spring 2014.

Buffalo Wild Wings has nearly 1,000 restaurants in 49 states, including Long Island locations in North Babylon, Hicksville, Farmingdale, Bay Shore, Westbury and Centereach. A Riverhead restaurant on Old Country Road, is also on the horizon, but its grand opening has been delayed.
