Gas Shortage Across Deer Park, N. Babylon

Long lines plague residents needing to fuel up. Governor announces ports will be opening for deliveries.

Residents are waiting more than hour in line at local gas stations to fuel up after Hurricance Sandy.

Deer Park-North Babylon Patch Twitter follower Rich Murdocco (@TheFoggiestIdea) sent in the photo above of the line at a Hess station at the intersection of Weeks Road and Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park.

Lori Brown Grimaldi commented on Facebook that her son waited an hour and a half in the line to fill up.

The gas shortage and long lines may not last much longer, however. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday that the U.S. Coast Guard is opening the New York and New Jersey ports so that gas may be delivered.
