LIRR Thursday PM Schedule Changes

As the Long Island Rail Road continues its recovery from Hurricane Sandy, its Thursday evening rush hour schedule includes a handful of cancelations or diverted trains on the Babylon and Ronkonkoma branches. Riders should continue to anticipate delays of 10 to 15 minutes with trains more crowded than usual.

Babylon Branch

• The 4:04 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Babylon at 5:05 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 4:12 p.m. train from New York due into Massapequa Park at 5:10 p.m with stops at Woodside, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, Rockville Centre and then all local stops to Babylon.

• The 4:34 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Babylon at 5:39 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 4:37 p.m. train from New York due into Babylon at 5:52 p.m. with stops at Jamaica, St. Albans, Lynbrook, Rockville Centre and then all local stops to Babylon.

• The 4:52 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Babylon at 5:55 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:03 p.m. train from New York due into Wantagh at 5:53 p.m. with a stop at Rockville Centre and then all local stops to Babylon.

• The 5:13 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Wantagh at 6:19 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:19 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Wantagh at 6:06 p.m. with stops at Woodside, Jamaica, Merrick and then all local stops to Babylon. 

• The 5:24 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Freeport at 6:10 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:35 p.m. Huntington train from Penn Station due into Jamaica at 5:55 p.m. for transfer to the 6:05 p.m. Babylon train with a stop at Rockville Centre and then all local stops to Babylon. 

• The 5:36 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Babylon at 6:40 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:40 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Seaford at 6:30 p.m. with a stop at Merrick and then all local stops to Babylon.

• The 6:33 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Babylon at 7:35 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 6:36 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Wantagh at 7:29 p.m. with stops at Jamaica, St. Albans, Rockville Centre and then all local stops to Babylon.

Ronkonkoma Branch

• The 4:54 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Farmingdale at 5:56 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:01 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Ronkonkoma at 6:20 p.m. with stops at Woodside, Jamaica, New Hyde Park and then all stops to Ronkonkoma.

• The 5:22 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Ronkonkoma at 6:38 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:41 p.m. train from Penn Station due into Ronkonkoma at 6:49 p.m. with stops at Hicksville, Wyandanch and then all stops to Ronkonkoma.
