West Islip
Detectives arrested three people Sunday in connection with a hit and run crash last week that critically injured a West Islip teen, police said. Police say the driver of a 2012 Chrysler 300, Kristofer Busching, 25, of North Babylon, left the scene after striking the teen on Udall Road on New Year's Eve.

Sachem
Suffolk Police are accusing a retired Catholic school teacher from Holbrook of possessing child pornography and storing it on his home computer. After an investigation by detectives in the Computer Crimes Unit, police searched the Arnold Street home of Thomas Bouklas, 64, and seized his computers, hard drives and assorted media. Bouklas is a retired teacher and former soccer coach at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School in West Islip.

Patchogue
A Medford man was in critical condition after being shot last Friday night, police said. Brett McCoy, 20, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix on Adam Lane in Middle Island when he was shot once in his torso around 10:30 p.m. by an unknown person or persons, police said.

Lindenhurst
Two local roadway improvement projects will move forward thanks to funding from New York State. The Village of Lindenhurst will be receiving $100,000 from Albany to help pay for repaving and other improvements to North Wellwood Avenue. The funding will also be used to help cover the costs for a second improvement project on North Indiana Street.
