Timing sometimes is everything and for one young Davis Park fawn it might have been the difference between life and death. Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers pulled the fawn out of the icy waters off Davis Park Marina in Fire Island Thursday afternoon after noticing the deer upon coming into the marina.

Babylon Village

A Babylon Village man has been ordered to surrender his dog after three alleged attacks left at least one person hospitalized for a time. News 12 Long Island reports Babylon resident Alan Ball was ordered by a judge to turn over his pitbull, named Muscles, over to an animal shelter in the Town of Babylon within 48 hours of his Wednesday hearing or face contempt charges.

The Patchogue King Kullen is among several grocery stores that were victimized by a series of robberies in which a total of $2,400 worth of frozen shrimp were stolen, Suffolk County Police told Patch on Tuesday.

Sachem

Sachem Patch received communication from a Farmingville man who built a hockey rink last week in his own back yard. Brian Wasson posted a gallery on his Facebook page of his family and the neighborhood kids zipping around on the rink during the last frigid cold spell. "Was so much fun," Wasson messaged us on the Sachem Patch Twitter page. "Totaled near 15 hours of ice time last weekend. Slowly melting now, hopefully to refreeze again."
