One of the greatest high school athletes in Long Island sports history continued his dramatic fall from grace Tuesday after he was arrested in connection with a Huntington burglary. Jason Gwaltney, 25, a North Babylon graduate and former West Virginia University running back, was charged along with four others with first-degree burglary, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Suffolk County Police said.

It has been over a year since New York City Police Officer Peter Figoski was gunned down in Brooklyn, but the fallen hero's family is finally getting some justice. The trial for Figoski's accused murderer, Lamont Pride, 28, began on Thursday as prosecutors laid out a detailed case against him, according to a report in The New York Post.

Suffolk County Police arrested a dentist who they said was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while he conducted a dental procedure on a patient on Monday afternoon. First Precinct police officers responded to a complaint at a dental office - located at 152 North Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst - about a dentist who appeared to be intoxicated at approximately 4:30 p.m.

An East Patchogue man has been arrested and charged with the burglary of Bayport Wine and Liquor, Suffolk police confirmed Thursday. Harry Fleischmann Jr., of East Patchogue, allegedly told police he backed a vehicle he had stolen into the front door of the liquor store on January 9.

Half Hollow Hills
Two people were hospitalized following an armed robbery at a Dix Hills home late Sunday night, Suffolk Police said. Police said two men with masks and guns entered a house, which had several people inside, at 800 Deer Park Road through an open door shortly after 11 p.m.

Patchogue
A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the burglary and arson of Eric Carver's East Patchogue home, Suffolk police confirmed Thursday. Carver, a master sergeant with the Air National Guard 106th Rescue Wing, has been deployed in Africa since September and is due back home in the coming weeks.
