Local Bikers Help Child Abuse Victims

WHO: The Guardians of the Children, a national biker organization dedicated to protecting the victims of child abuse.

WHAT: Motorcycle Poker Run. $20 Rider/$5 Passenger 

WHERE: The run will begin at the Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center At The Pat & Mary Bagnato Place for Kids, 84 Wheeler Rd in Central Islip. Registration is from 9-11am and will conclude at Gator Blue, 149 Carlton Ave. East Islip.

WHEN: Sunday, July 22, 2012 

WHY: The proceeds from the Poker Run will be used to purchase school supplies for the children who visit the EAC Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center At The Pat & Mary Bagnato Place for Kids in Central Islip. The Center provides a safe, neutral and child-oriented environment for child abuse victims so that all necessary medical examinations and interviews can be done at one location. In addition, the Center serves as a resource for the children and their families to connect with community-based services, including therapy, help in meeting medical needs, and assistance with financial problems.

EAC is a leading human service not-for-profit that helped more than 65,500 people last year with programs and services that provide educational, vocational, counseling and mediation services, rehabilitation for non-violent offenders and support to children, families and senior citizens.
