Wednesday's Events: What's Happening Locally

From board games to turning the ordinary doodle into a work of art, our local area has a lot going on.

Wednesday is here on this holiday-shortened week, signaling the middle of the week and only a few more until the weekend is here yet again.

There's a couple of events going on around Deer Park and North Babylon, in addition to a couple in nearby areas.

Learn to stretch and mold your body into shape with Zumba in West Babylon. will be teaching zumba mixed with some dance fitness in a workout that's fun for all ages. The program begins at 10:00am at 344 Little East Neck Road in West Babylon and costs $5.00.

Recovering from cancer or have a loved one battling it? Center will be holding its weekly "Life Goes On" Support Group starting at 11:00am inside the hospital's 2nd Floor Annex Conference Room. Free for all ages.

The West Babylon Public Library will host an open room for Fun & Games, including favorites such as Scrabble and Mah Jong, starting at 1:00pm. Free for all ages.

The North Babylon Public Library will be holding two events for children on this sunny day, starting with Spring Planting At The Library at 3:30pm. Children, along with a parent, will help to plant new flowers around the library's grounds to keep it pretty until Fall.

At 7:00pm, the Library the art of Zentangle. Zentangle is a type of drawing that uses repetitive patterns to create beautiful works of art. It’s fun, relaxing and best of all you don't need to be artistic! The event, however, is only open to North Babylon School District Residents.
