Legislator D'Amaro Joins Other Electeds at North Babylon Youth League Opening Day 2014

On Saturday, I joined County Executive Steve Bellone, Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer, other local elected officials, parents and hundreds of young sluggers as the North Babylon Youth League (NBYL) opened the 2014 baseball and softball season with its annual parade and celebration.

Under the direction of NBYL President Ken Primm, the parade for the league’s 57th season stepped off from North Babylon High School and concluded with a celebration at Phelps Lane Park.  Others attending the festivities included New York State Senator Philip Boyle, New York State Assemblyman Joseph Saladino and Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey.

Established in 1957 and chartered through the Williamsport Little League, the North Babylon Youth League provides baseball and softball programs to youths ages 5 to 18.  Visit the website www.nbyl.com for schedules and more information about the league.

The start of baseball season is always an exciting time, and as a North Babylon parent, I look forward to seeing our children have fun on the fields. I thank the North Babylon Youth League directors, volunteers, coaches and the entire community for continuously supporting our players.  Play ball!
