Marion G. Vedder Teacher Wins Big on 'Wheel of Fortune'

Fifth-grade teacher John Paul Biondo, of North Babylon, won $17,550 in cash and prizes on famed game show.

John Paul Biondo, a fifth grade teacher at North Babylon's Marion G. Vedder Elementary School, spun and solved his way to $17,550 in cash and prizes on the famed game show "Wheel of Fortune," according to a Newsday report

Biondo, a father of two, was surprised by an auditorium of full of hundreds of MGV students chanting his name last Thursday morning, the same day the Wheel episode he appeared on was due to air, Newsday reported.

Biondo's haul from the show, which was taped in February in California as part of the show's "Dad's Week," included a trip to Hawaii.

“It was nerve-racking, but I did my best and it turned out to be an amazing experience,” Biondo told Newsday of appearing on the show.
