Higher Temps = Higher Utility Bills

The cost of keeping cool doens't have to be as expensive.

The summer is here and along with the longer days and warmer weather comes higher temps. Many of us enjoy suns warmth as opposed to a cool winter’s
breeze. But with the suns warmth comes a price, the price to keep cool.  46% of the energy we use in our homes goes to heating and cooling 17% of that can be for just cooling.  We are quick to put on the air conditioning each year when the heat and uncomfortable temp rises. But regret the choices we make when that LIPA bill comes with the first summer months on it. Some save on energy in creative ways by putting a limit on the hours they use ac or invest in fans and portable units to draw the heat out of the home or circulate it better within.  Some just are uncomfortable in their own homes. By having a certified BPI specialist in your home he/she can perform a Free Compressive Home Energy Assessment and tell you just how efficient your home is or isn’t. They can then instruct you on the best most cost-effective way to save energy on the cooling of your living space.  By better sealing the air ducts to the central air unit you can insure that the cool air is cooling your home and not wasting it.  Also improved insulation can help as well. People over look insulation thinking that it’s just for keeping the heat in during the winter but it also can keep hot air out during the summer months. So before you crank up the AC this season or invest in the latest plug-in cooling system you’ve heard about. Have an expert come to your home and review your usage and inspect your systems so you can make an educated decision on the most energy efficient and cost effective way to cool you home.
