The holiday season is here, so it's a good time to take notice of the kind things we do for one another.
With the one-month anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, we were thinking about all of the ways that neighbors have been helping neighbors, both near and far.
There were heroes right here in Deer Park and North Babylon. From businesses opening their doors and donating food, the American Red Cross setting up a shelter at Robert Frost Middle School and the many groups popping up to support and fundraise for their hometown, friends, family and neighbors.
Many came together to pull together donations for those hit hardest south of Montauk Highway, as well.
Do you have a story to share about something kind someone did for you? For your family member? For your friend? You don't necessarily have to use names - though we encourage you to recognize that special person. They deserve it, right?
