Back-to-Back Robberies of Deer Park Chinese Food Delivery Men

Incidents occurred less than an hour apart Wednesday night.

In two separate incidents Wednesday night, Chinese food delivery men were robbed while making deliveries in Deer Park.

In the first incident, police say a delivery man for Deer Park's Rhine Kitchen Chinese Restaurant was attempting to deliver food on Long Island Avenue at 10:09 p.m. when he was robbed by two unknown males. One robber pushed the delivery man to the ground and robbed him of his iPhone and cash, police said. The robbers fled westbound on Long Island Avenue in a dark-colored sedan.

Less than an hour later at 10:49 p.m., two delivery drivers from Deer Park's Jade Garden were making a delivery on Scott Avenue in Deer Park when they were approached by two men on foot, police said. One of the men was armed with a black handgun and struck one of the drivers with his fist and stole cash from the driver, police said.

The robbers fled in a light-colored sedan, possibly an older model Lexus, police said. No arrests have been made in either incident and the investigations are continuing.

Police did not say if the incidents are believed to be related.
