All parkways across Long Island have been shut down until further notice, the New York State Police announced on Monday night.
The Southern State, Northern State, Meadowbrook, Ocean, Loop, Wantagh, Sagtikos/Sunken Meadow, Robert Moses, and Bethpage parkways have all been closed because of the high probability that lanes are being blocked by downed trees or limbs.
The State Police encourage all motorists to stay home. If travel is absolutely necessary, motorists must take another roadway.
