Dix Hills
A 26-year-old died in a crash on the Northern State Parkway in Dix Hills early Monday morning and the driver of the vehicle is under arrest for driving while intoxicated, State Police said. Police say Yunior Josue Bonilla, 25, of Brentwood, lost control of a 2002 Mercedes CLK that was travelling at a high rate of speed on the parkway.
An investigation revaled that Bonilla and three other passengers were headed back to Brentwood from a nighclub in Westbury when the accident occurred, police said. The front seat passenger, identified as Gabriel Herrera-Mina, 26, of Brentwood, who was not wearing his seat belt, was critically injured and transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
West Babylon
A New York City man is under arrest after Suffolk County Police Department Homicide Squad detectives connected him with a 1994 homicide in West Babylon. The homicide occurred on March 22, 1994 when two men entered the Diamond Trucking Company, then located at 174 Cabot Street, West Babylon, and shot two employees while attempting to rob the business. One of the employees, Mario Andujar, 30, died at the scene. Detectives arrested Troy Arrighi, 37, of 400 East 30th Street, New York City at his home on Feb. 14.
Lindenhurst
A man was injured in an industrial accident at Marly Building Materials Incorporated on Sunrise Highway on Tuesday afternoon, causing the roadway to be shut down for about 35 minutes as a helicopter arrived to take him to the hospital. According to Suffolk Police, a call came at 3:32 p.m. on Tuesday that a man was hurt in an accident at the masonry and building supply company located at 61 Sunrise Highway.
