Lindenhurst
A Lindenhurst man took a woman out for dinner and gave her a box of chocolates during a date Monday night. What he got in return, though, from the woman wasn't nearly as sweet. Police say Virginia Miller, 26, of Amityville, helped set up the robbery of the Lindenhurst man, whom police did not identify, in the driveway of a North Amityville home. Miller and three men are now under arrest.
Babylon Village
A Brooklyn man accused of firing the deadly bullet that killed a West Babylon New York City Police Officer was found guilty on Monday in New York City Court. According to The Associated Press, Lamont Pride, of Brooklyn, was found guilty on second-degree murder, burglary and second-degree aggravated manslaughter charges. Pride was found not guilty, however, in the most serious charge – the allegation he intentionally killed the officer. Pride faces anywhere from 25 years to life in prison for his crimes.
West Islip
Suffolk County Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man accused of stealing a generator from Lowe's Home Improvement on January 8. The man, pictured here, left the Bay Shore store with the generator at approximately 4 p.m. that day, according to police.
