Police: More Than $1,000 in Electronics Taken from Commack Staples

An East Northport man was arrested Aug. 14 after he allegedly stole more than $1,000 worth of electronics from the Commack Staples, where he worked. 

According to police, Marc Chery, 23, took nine cell phones, two tablets and a GPS from his former place of employment.

He was charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a Class D felony punishable by up to seven years in prison.

Police Searching for Amityville Burglar

Suffolk County Police are asking for the public's help in catching a thief that burglarized an Amityville doctor's office last month.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department and Crime Stoppers, a man broke into the office of Dr. Vinod Gulati in Amityville on July 9 between the hours of 7:45 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The burglary managed to escape the office with several gift cards to Lord & Taylor, totaling $850.

The burglar, however, was caught on camera by security devices located in the office at 333 Broadway in Amityville.

Armed Robber Strikes Holbrook Gas Station

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Holbrook gas station that occurred Sunday night. 

Police say a man in his 20s, wearing a red and white bandana over the lower part of his face, entered the Gulf station at the corner of Express Drive South and Patchogue-Holbrook Road at 9:53 p.m.  

Armed with a gun, the man demanded cash from a gas station employee. The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. No one was hurt during the robbery.
