Crimes Nearby: Two Men Shot in Central Islip

A look at recent crime in the area.

Police are investigating the Wednesday shooting of two men in Central Islip. 

Third Precinct officers responded to Peach Street after several 911 callers reported hearing shots fired at 12:56 p.m.  When officers arrived, they found Keith Vann, 24, of Central Islip, shot in the leg and torso, and James Anderson, 24, of Central Islip, shot in the lower leg.  Vann and Anderson were transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A man driving a gold or tan SUV was seen driving away from the scene shortly after the shooting.

Police: Man Stabbed on N. Wellwood Avenue

A man was stabbed multiple times on North Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst near the Brewhaus Pub and Nick's Smoke Shop on early Monday morning, police said.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, Lindenhurst residents Dale Campiglia, 47, and Robert St. John, 25, were involved in an altercation in the street in front of 111 North Wellwood Avenue when Campiglia reportedly stabbed St. John multiple times.

Holbrook Man Charged in July Road Rage Incident

A 37-year-old Holbrook man is facing reckless endangerment charges for a road rage incident that occurred in late July on Veterans Memorial Highway, according to Suffolk Police.

Thomas Brown Jr. was arrested Sunday following a month-long investigation by Fifth Precinct Crime Section Police Officer Thomas Hannafey.

According to police Brown has been identified as the driver who drove on the wrong side of the highway on July 24 just before noon following a road rage incident.
