A fire broke out in the basement of a Deer Park home Monday afternoon.
A 911 call was made at 4:48 p.m. to report the blaze at 185 Cayuga Avenue, according to police.
The fire also ripped through the rear portion of the home. The Deer Park Fire Department, with an assist from the Dix Hills Fire Department, got the blaze under control in less than a half hour.

No injuries were reported. No word on the cause of the fire.
