Man Rescued from Overturned Car

Dix Hills firefighters use Jaws of Life to pull man from car on LIE.

A man trapped in a car after an accident was rescued Friday by members of the Dix Hills Fire Department.

The department said it responded to an accident on the Long Island Expressway near Commack Road and found a car overturned and a man inside. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove the roof and then extricate the victim.
He was taken to Huntington Hospital by the Dix Hills Rescue Squad and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

About 25 firefighters and rescue personnel under the command of First Assistant Chief Robert Fling, with Second Assistant Chief Tom Napolitano handling operations responded to the accident.
