N. Babylon High Student Approached by Stranger

Student walking home on Brookside Avenue is approaching by man claiming to be looking for houses for sale in the area.

A female North Babylon High School student was approached by a man in a small light blue car as she walked home from school on Brookside Avenue Thursday, according to a message on the district's website.

The man stopped and asked her if she lived in the area because he was looking for houses for sale in the area, the message says.

The man, described as white, short and middle-aged, asked the student if she was being made uncomfortable by his talking to her and when she replied “yes” he got back in his car and drove away, the message says.

The police were notified of the incident.
