Overturned truck spilled metal debris across two exits off of and onto Route 109 in West Babylon.

A tractor-trailer carrying what appeared to be scrap metal and debris overturned on the northbound Route 109 exit off of eastbound Sunrise Highway in West Babylon earlier this afternoon, closing the roadway.

Suffolk County Police were called to the scene at 1:48 p.m. when a large tractor-trailer truck overturned on the northbound Route 109 exit from Sunrise Highway. Debris from truck was spilled all over the exit's roadway, including the entry from Route 109 to Sunrise Highway right next to it.

According to police, no one was seriously injured at the scene.

Police have continued to keep the two exits closed while working on cleaning up the mess.
