Police Arrest Alleged West Babylon Bank Robber

Dix Hills man arrested three days after robbery was committed at Bank of America.

The Suffolk County Police Department have announced the arrest of Max Schneider on charges related to the robbing of Bank of America in West Babylon on December 3rd.

Suffolk County Detectives charged Schneider, 23, of Dix Hills, with Robbery in the Third Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

According to the police, Schneider entered the Bank of America in West Babylon, located at 560 Montauk Highway, at around 1:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon. Police said he handed a teller a note demanding money and stating he had a gun. The teller complied and the robber escaped the bank on foot with an unannounced amount of money.

Schneider is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on December 6th.
