Police: Driver on Drugs in Crash That Seriously Injures Motorcyclist

Jacklynn Barkey, of Deer Park, is arrested following crash early Thursday.

A Deer Park woman was driving while on drugs when her car slammed into a motorcyclist in North Lindenhurst early Thursday, police said. 

According to police, John Pesce, of Mastic, was riding a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle west on Route 109 at 3:05 a.m. when he was struck by a 1996 Buick that was traveling south on Wellwood Avenue. 

Pesce, 60, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the Buick, Jacklynn Barkey, 27, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs.
