A New Year's Eve house fire in North Babylon claimed the life of a 61-year-old man, police confirmed early Tuesday morning.
Police and North Babylon firefighters responded to 37 Peacock Lane at 10:06 p.m. after a neighbor called 911. The fire department extinguished the fire and discovered the body of the homeowner, Raymond Frank, inside the house near the front door, police said.
Frank was pronounced dead on the scene.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Squad detectives are continuing their investigation.
