Suffolk County Police arrested a Bay Shore woman for allegedly robbing a bank in Deer Park on Tuesday.
Jean Coughlin, 45, entered the Chase Bank on the corner of Grand Boulevard and Carlls Path at 3:22 p.m. and handed the bank teller a handwritten note demanding cash and threatening violence, according to a Suffolk County police news release.
The teller complied, but before Coughlin could leave the bank, a customer who saw the robbery kept her from leaving until police could come and make the arrest.
Coughlin was then charged with one count of Robbery 3rd Degree. She was subsequently charged with two more Suffolk County bank robberies she allegedly committed earlier this year.
Cops said they also arrested her getaway driver, Jesse Stewart, 37, of Riverhead.
Coughlin was being held at the Fourth Precinct in Hauppauge and Stewart was being held at the Seventh Precinct in Shirley. The two will be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
