Blizzard Knocks Few Off the Grid

Only a handful of Deer Park and North Babylon residents lost power due to the blizzard, according to LIPA's outage map.

While about 10,000 Long Island customers woke up to no power on Saturday morning, most residents and businesses in Deer Park and North Babylon remained on the grid.

According to the Long Island Power Authority outage map, fewer than 10 customers lost power here. There was a small outage east of Deer Park Avenue, just south of Bay Shore Road in North Babylon. There were also few outages south of Sunrise Highway in North Babylon.

In all of Babylon, there were 20 customers without power.

The news was far worse in Brookhaven, where 4,637 customers were knocked off the grid as of 6:30 a.m.
