Deer Park Library Still Closed

The library said the Long Island Power Authority has not fixed a damaged pole on E. 5th Street.

Twelve days after Hurricane Sandy's fury knocked it off the power grid, the Deer Park Library remains closed.

The library said that its board and administration is working on the problem, but it is at the mercy of the much-maligned Long Island Power Authority. LIPA has been under fire for the pace in which its brought customers back online after the Oct. 29 storm.
