Montano to Face Johnson This Fall

Published reports say Suffolk Legislator Ricardo Montano will challenge long-time State Senator Owen Johnson in the Fourth Senate District.

Residents in the Fourth State Senate district will have a contested race this .

Newsday reported Suffolk County Legislator Ricardo Montano has filed enough petitions with the County Board of Elections to put him on the ballot against incumbent (R-Babylon).

Montano, a Democrat who lives just outside the district’s boundaries in Brentwood, is permitted to run for the seat because this year is a reapportionment year. He's served on the Legislature since 2004.

was first elected to the Senate in 1972. He's a graduate of Babylon High School. He currentl lives in West Babylon with his wife, Christel.

The Fourth Senate District runs along the South Shore of Southwestern Suffolk County, and includes Lindenhurst, West Babylon, Babylon Village, North Babylon, Deer Park and West Islip.
