Town of Babylon 'Fully Prepared' for Winter Storm

Up to 90 snow plows ready to hit the streets, officials say.

Town of Babylon officials say they are fully prepared for the incoming winter storm.

The town currently has 80-90 snow plows fully fueled and ready to hit the streets and 30-40 volunteer firefighters on stand-by if the storm is worse than expected.

"As with every storm, we are making all possible preparations and preparing for the worst," Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer said. "Current forecasts do not call for significant snow accumulation, but the icy roads and high winds will still make for a treacherous environment over the next two days. I urge residents to take the proper precautions and stay safe."
