Town Officials Honor Hometown NBA Star Danny Green

N. Babylon native honored for his annual Team Green Basketball Camp.

Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer and Councilwoman Jacqueline Gordon recently recognized North Babylon native Danny Green of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs for his work in the community with his Team Green Basketball Camp, which teaches basketball fundamentals and the value of teamwork to local children of all ages.

A presentation was held on the basketball courts of the Town Hall Annex on Phelps Lane with members of the camp in attendance.

The Team Green Basketball Camp was founded in 2009 by Danny’s father, Danny Green Sr., and is held at Robert Moses Middle School in North Babylon. For the past four years, the NBA star has returned home to lead the camp, which features clinics, drills and team games to help participants improve their skills while emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship both on and off the court.
