Deer Park Custodians Recognized for Sandy Efforts

School staff worked through storm to set up facilities for the Red Cross and repair damage.

The Deer Park school board honored its custodial staff last week for their efforts during and after Hurricane Sandy.

While students were out of class for seven days, the custodial staff was working overtime, setting up the facilities at Robert Frost Middle School for the American Red Cross and making repairs throughout the district's buildings.

"These guys did a phenomenal job helping the Red Cross. We cannot thank them enough for going beyond what they had to do," Superintendent Eva Demyen said.
