Deer Park School Budget Passes

Deer Park residents approved the school district’s $105.93 million proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 1,372-560.

The budget calls for a 2.18 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.63 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state's tax cap.

Five candidates ran for three seats on the Deer Park Board of Education. Incumbent Alfred Centamore ran unopposed. Incumbent Donna Gulli Grunseich defeated challenger Jerry Jean-Pierre and Kristine Rosales beat Anthony Camodeois for a one-year term for the seat Frank Wilkinson resigned from in February.
