Deer Park Students Collect Donations for Sandy Victims

Fifth graders at JFK Intermediate held a drive to collect household supplies for neighbors affected by the storm.

Students at John F. Kennedy Intermediate School recently held a supply drive to benefit local families devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

Fifth graders Samantha Giroux, Makenzie Koury Caldone and Angelina Pititto organized the drive and encouraged fellow students to donate.

They collected everyday necessities like baby supplies, personal care items and household supplies. All proceeds were then donated to Long Island Cares to be distributed to locals in need.
