This weekend the North Babylon Varsity Cheerleaders attended the UCA National Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida. This is the biggest and most prestigious cheerleading competition in the country. To attend the National competition teams must first qualify at a Regional competition, North Babylon placed 2nd at the Northeast Regional in November and qualified. The team was one of 64 teams in the country to qualify in the Small Varsity Division 1 the largest division in the competition. The team competed in the preliminary and semi final rounds of competition on Saturday, February 8 before advancing to the final round on Sunday, February 9. Twenty one teams in the nation made it to the finalist round. North Babylon hit a perfect routine and placed 17th in the Nation!
