N. Babylon School Budget Passes

North Babylon easily passed a $113.65 million proposed school budget on Tuesday by a margin of 1,497-605.

The budget includes a 1.46 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.54 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state's tax cap for the district.

Janet Meyerson, Barbara Ferguson and Bob Scheid won seats on the school board. Incumbents Meyerson and Ferguson ran unopposed. Scheid, a former board trustee, returns to the board after defeating Jeffrey Myers and Robin Gallagher.
