The North Babylon School District will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 30 due to Hurricane Sandy lashing her way through Long Island, Superintendent Patricia Godek announced Monday.
Classes were also canceled on Monday in anticipation of the impending weather conditions.
The cancelations include Almost Home before and after school day care as well as all before and after school activities.
Schools in the Deer Park district are also closed on Tuesday.
An American Red Cross shelter is set up at Robert Frost Middle School in Deer Park for any residents needing refuge. The Babylon Town Hall Annex (281 Phelps Lane, North Babylon, NY 11703) has also been declared a place of safe haven.
