Woods Road Reads With America

On March 3, students at North Babylon’s Woods Road Elementary School celebrated the National Education Association’s 17th annual Read Across America Day. Held in conjunction with Dr. Seuss’ birthday, the program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships and reading resources.

At Woods Road, district personnel volunteered their time to read select stories, poems and essays to classes.

“We celebrate Read Across America Day because it is just one more way to put an emphasis on reading for our students,” said Principal Steven Golub.
