Deer Park Boys Basketball Challenging for Large School Championship

The Falcons will take on number-one ranked Northport on Tuesday evening.

The Deer Park Falcons varsity boys basketball team is just two wins away from the biggest prize in Suffolk County – the Section XI Championship.

Between the team (17-4) and the trophy – number-one ranked large school Northport (20-1) and the winner of the small schools championship game, either Class A champion Amityville or Class B champion Babylon.

The Falcons have had a long road to the final matchup between AA-division schools, defeating Hauppauge 75-56 on Feb. 15, Smithtown West 66-65 on Feb. 19 and taking out the number-two ranked Brentwood team 76-63 on Feb. 22.

The Deer Park Falcons will challenge the Northport Tigers on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at Longwood High School in Middle Island. Tickets will cost $6 per person.

The game will be played following the matchup between Town of Babylon rivals Amityville and Babylon at 5 p.m.
