The top two seeds will tangle for the Suffolk Class AA girls basketball championship on Tuesday.
One of those teams: the North Babylon Lady Bulldogs.
North Babylon defeated Commack in the semifinals on Saturday, but it wasn't easy. The Bulldogs trailed 40-38 with less than five seconds to play when North Babylon junior Makeda Nicholas nailed a jumper to send the game into overtime.
Top-seeded North Babylon, led by Brittany Hicks, who scored 17 points and had 15 rebounds, held on in overtime for a 47-45 win at St. Joseph's College. Nicholas finished with 15 points. Erin Storck also had 15 points for the Bulldogs.
In the title game Tuesday, North Babylon will take on the No. 2-seeded Sachem East Flaming Arrows, who defeated Walt Whitman on Saturday. The championship gets underway at 5:30 p.m at Ward Melville High School. Admission is $6.
